Anatoly Malykhin is ONE’s 2022 MMA Athlete of The Year

Anatoly Malykhin, a Russian fighter, has been selected as the “2022 MMA Athlete of the Year” by ONE following his spectacular victory for the light heavyweight title in December.

Malykhin, 34, who currently holds the interim heavyweight title, added the ONE light heavyweight championship to his long list of accomplishments by defeating Reinier de Ridder, or “The Dutch Knight,” at ONE on Prime Video in Manila, Philippines.

Now, what’s next for Malykhin is possibly a unification fight against Arjan Bhullar and rematches with other contenders for the light heavyweight.

Christian Lee, who currently holds the ONE lightweight and welterweight titles, Tang Kai, Demetrious Johnson, and Jarred Brooks were also given honorable mentions for ONE’s “2022 MMA Athlete of the Year.”
