Several fighters have questioned Paddy Pimblett’s massive weight gain, but UFC veteran Donald Cerrone believes the rising star has earned the right to binge eat. ‘The Baddy’ weighed in at 155 pounds for his most recent victory, but just two weeks later, after binge eating, he tipped the scales at over 200 pounds.
Fighters like his forthcoming opponent Jordan Leavitt and boxing icon Ricky Hatton have criticized the Liverpudlian’s excessive eating habits. Cerrone, who meets Joe Lauzon on Saturday, doesn’t view Pimblett’s weight rise as a problem because he has no trouble making the weight.
“He’s still young, he’s got it. If that’s what he wants to do,” said Cerrone. “The only problem with him getting big like that is it sucks because the first part of your camp goes to losing the weight and you’re just battling that but he’s still young and learning and playing.
“I mean s***, go do it. Get big. If you like pizza and lasagna and beer, eat it, brother because you earned it. Just do your s*** then it just sucks but (shrugs).”
