Jake Paul on fighting Tommy Fury: “This is my toughest test yet”

Paul, 25, and Fury, 23, finally signed terms for their bout on Thursday, which will take place on Aug. 6 at Madison Square Garden in New York.

In a video, posted to his more than 20 million YouTube subscribers, titled “The Biggest Risk of My Career,” Paul explained why he is so excited about the fight.

“All jokes aside, this is my toughest test yet,” Paul said. “You guys wanted me to fight a real fighter, and I was tormented daily by that and as far as real fighters go this is as real as it gets.”

“Tommy Fury comes from a legendary bloodline of boxers. The Fury name is as infamous as the Mayweather’s, their whole family; all they know is boxing.  For God’s sake, his brother is the heavyweight champion of the world, his father went to jail for gouging someone’s eye out. Tommy Fury has been boxing since he was 12 years old.”

Paul continued, “Tommy Fury is taller than me, has been boxing four times longer than me, has longer arms than me and has a lot more ring experience than me. It’s definitely my toughest test.”
