Jon Jones already weighs 255lbs prior to his debut at heavyweight

Jon Jones continues his preparation to make his debut at heavyweight, as he continues to gain pounds and condition his body for the division.

“Bones” hasn’t fought since February 2020, when he defended the light heavyweight belt against Dominick Reyes at UFC 247.

Former UFC and now EagleFC standout Yorgan De Castro was spotted sparring with Jones, as he prepares to face Junior Dos Santos. De Castro revealed that Jones is already weighing in at 255 pounds, just 10 pounds under the full-weight limit.

He’s walking around at 255 pounds but is so strong and cardio will be the key“, De Castro stated on MMA Fighting. “He has so much cardio. He hits pads for two hours and doesn’t slow down.”

The two possible opponents for Jones are champion Francis Ngannou and the considered best heavyweight of all time, Stipe Miocic. De Castro believes Jones would beat both.

“The Stipe fight will be perfect. Stipe weighs the same and has good boxing. I think Jones will run through Stipe. I think [Jones] will take him down and win by TKO,”, De Castro mentioned. “If he does fight [Ngannou], it’s hard to go against Jones. I don’t see anyone touching the man. His wrestling is very, very, very good. His jiu-jitsu is great,” he said.
