The son of boxing legend Manny Pacquiao obtained his second win as an amateur and remains undefeated after defeating Jonathan Barajas.
Emmanuel “Manny” Pacquiao Jr., 21, started his amateur boxing career two months ago in San Diego, California, and is looking better and better in the ring. In his last fight, he won by decision in an entertaining bout held at the Montebello Country Club.
Important figures and celebrities were in the audience of the evening, including UFC President Dana White. The fighter’s father, Manny Pacquiao, was unable to attend the evening, having just lost in his campaign to become president of the Philippines.
“I did better than my first one so,” Pacquiao Jr. stated to Fight Hype. “I looked good I feel this time my performance was better than the last one. It has been a lot of work to make this progress and I like to get in there and show everything I do.”
As he is also known, Jimuel Pacquiao has been training with legendary coach Freddie Roach at Wildcard Gym, he has also worked alongside superstar Saul “Canelo” Alvarez. The Filipino is looking to recapture the glory days of his father, who had great moments and rivalries, including the one with Floyd Mayweather.
Freddie Roach said he is in favor of a hypothetical duel between Pacquiao Jr and Karam Mayweather. “I like that,” Roach sentenced.
