UFC welterweight Jorge Masvidal, did his best to hide his face from the press following his arrest following his incident with Colby Covington in Miami.
But, this afternoon, footage was released of Masvidal being handcuffed and being interviewed by law enforcement authorities.
Masvidal, was arrested last March 23 on charges of assault and criminal mischief, both felonies.
This happened after meeting his former friend Colby Covington outside Papi Steak in Miami Beach, causing damage to Colby’s teeth and the former interim welterweight champion’s Rolex watch. A possible sentence could give him up to 15 years in prison.
“Gamebred” lost to his former friend and training partner on the undercard of UFC 272, but comments that crossed the line didn’t let the rivalry be a thing of the past after the bout.
The Miami-based Cuban pleaded not guilty and will await trial, which is scheduled for early 2023.
